ASUS takes advantage of the exclusive setting of the Milan Design Week 2012 being held these days in Milan in Italy to officially present the Transformer Pad Infinity 700, the premium version of its family of hybrid devices that combine the benefits of tablet to those of the notebook. Asus Transformer Pad 700 is characterized by the typical minimalist design and trendy, already adopted for ultrabook ZenBook, with very clean lines and sleek. The shell is made of aluminum alloy, has a finish in concentric circles radiating from the ASUS logo in the center of the cover.
The top edge of the back makes its appearance a plastic insert, absent from the previous models. In addition to supplement the camera it contains mainly the WiFi and GPS antennas , so as to obviate the reception problems occurred previously, precisely because of the aluminum body, which partially screened radio waves. Transformer Pad 700 also offers a respectable endowment, which currently has no equal in any other product on the market.
We find a display of 10 inches of type SuperIPS well with a luminance of 600 nits and a resolution of Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels . The panel is also protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass 2 , as strong as its predecessor, but slimmer. ASUS offers the TF700 in two configurations, only with WiFi Quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 in the variant T33 with a maximum frequency of 1.6 GHz, or with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC S4 MSM8960 mobile broadband networks with support 3G/4G/LTE . In our country, at least initially, will distribute only the version 3 Tegra WiFi-only Transformer Pad of Infinity 700.
The SoC has been revised and optimized further than that powered the Transformer Top and is able to operate at higher frequencies for uncompromised performance in both 2D and 3D.Alongside him are then 1 GB of RAM and a quantity of flash memory for storage equal to 16, 32 or 64 GB depending on model. Once again we also find the audio system based on chip SonicMaster ICEpower from Bang & Olufsen , can deliver sound quality far superior to that obtainable with other tablets, and of course the Google Android operating system is always in the latest version 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich .
The device should then enjoy a range of very high, thanks to the double lithium-polymer battery, the first hosted in the same tablet, which should provide up to 10 hours, and the second hand housed in the keyboard / docking station, which should extend this time to 16 hours . Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 700 with Tegra 3 and 64 GB of storage capacity will be sold in Italy by next June, at a cost of 599 euros for the WiFi version only.
