In early March, Archos has launched its Child Pad, a tablet with the screen 7-inch resistive and OS Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, specifically designed for children through the integration of an Kids App Store and use of rubber and colorful. According to a recent roadmap of the Archos, the French company would be planning a new version of this tablet, which is called the Child Pad 2 with some small change compared to the first generation.
Child Pad 2 is almost identical to Child Pad, with one important difference: the display is used capacitive touchscreen. Why Archos has decided to make this change? The resistive screenspick up the pressure of an object (whether it be a stylus or a finger) due to the superposition of the two transparent layers and conductive which constitute the display while thecapacitive screen exploits the variaziazione of dielectric strength of the fingers (and few other materials) on the thin metal oxide layer that covers the panel. And ‘This is one reason why you can not use a stylus on a capacitive screen.
The rest of the specifications remain unchanged . Child Pad 2 will have a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a special App Store for children based on the library and AppsLib a particular parental filter, to block some sites when surfing the Web Pad Child Archos 2 should be launched during of this quarter , at a price not yet announced but perhaps slightly more than $ 99 for version with capacitive display.
